Witching Hour Card Collection FAQ

What is the Witching Hour Card Collection?

A set of business-card-sized fliers that have the names and faces of the “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…” performers, hosts, and production team.

What are they for?

To remind you when and where to see “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…”

They’re also a way to win prizes at the show itself.

How do I win?

By collecting at least one of each of the 17 distinct cards and presenting them to producer Jamie Wood during “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…” on November 14th at the Puppet Co. in Glen Echo, MD.

What do I win for collecting all 17 cards?

Prizes have not yet been announced, but the first person to present a complete set will win a more significant prize than the last person to present a complete set.

Wait, didn’t there used to be 15 or 16 cards?

Yes. Some changes were made to the show roster after we began announcing the cards.

The cards are cool though! Do I have to choose between keeping them or getting a prize?

Definitely not! We absolutely want you to be able to keep the cards and get a prize for collecting them all. There will, however, be rules to prevent cheating by using the same collection to receive prizes multiple times.

Are there different kinds of cards?

Yes!

Performer Cards – There are 14 different Performer Cards, one for each performer, host, or kitten for “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…” Some people represented on the cards are in multiple acts and/or in more than one role during the event. There is still only one distinct card for each of them. There is also one Performer Card with two people on it. You still only need one copy of this card to complete the set.

Rare Cards – There are 3 different Rare Cards, one for each member of the “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…” production team. These cards are considered rare, because until November 14th you can only get them directly from the people on the card, and on November 14th there will be fewer of them mixed into the random card supply. (See “How do I get the cards?” and “What are the odds of receiving each card?”)

Blank Cards – These cards share a similar design to Performer Cards and Rare Cards, but there’s no photo of anyone on them. They do not count toward the complete set of cards. Hold onto them anyway, because they can still be useful in completing your set. (See “So what are the Blank Cards for?”)

How do I get the cards?

Several ways! Though we recommend getting them directly from the performers.

Each person named on one of the cards has a supply of their own card. Those cards belong to them, and they can distribute them (or not) in any way they want. For example, performers may have their cards available to give away at their other shows. A member of the production team might have their cards at other events they’re attending or supporting. Following the Puppet Co. and the Witching Hour performers and hosts on social media is a good way to catch announcements of when and where cards might be available.

Every day through November 13th, 2025, a small number of cards for one random Performer Card will be available at the Puppet Co., during open hours. Please do not take more than one card per visitor. Rare Cards are not available this way. If we run out of that day’s Performer Card, Blank Cards will be available instead. Again, please only take one.

At “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…” there will be several ways to receive one or two random cards, which might be any of the three kinds of cards. (See “What are the odds of receiving each card?”) The methods of receiving these random cards have not yet been announced.

Also at “Witching Hour: It’s Giving…,” each person represented on a card will have a supply of their card with them. Again, those cards belong to them, and they can distribute them in any way they want. Tipping the performers seems like an excellent idea though.

A full set is also available as a raffle prize. Don’t hold out hope that this is your way to win, though. Someone will almost certainly have one the best prize before this even becomes an option.

We want to emphasize that we mean it when we say above that those cards belong to the people who have them. The Puppet Co. has no control over how, why, when, or where the owners of those cards might choose to give you one.

What are the odds of receiving each card?

For the daily card available at the Puppet Co., there is an equal chance of any particular Performer Card being available that day, while supplies last.

For the random cards available during the event, the odds are approximately as follows:

68.8% chance of getting a Performer Card – 4.9% chance of getting a specific Performer Card.

7.4% chance of getting a Rare Card – 2.5% chance of getting a specific Rare Card.

24% chance of getting a Blank Card.

These odds may change at any time, and those changes might not be reflected in this FAQ.

So what are the Blank Cards for?

We haven’t announced that yet. They’ll be useful, but not exceptionally. So bring them, but don’t hoard them.

Why don’t the cards themselves say anything about collecting them?

Why don’t the Rare Cards have a symbol or something on them saying they’re rare?

Why don’t the cards say whether someone is a performer, host, or production team?

Why is the back of the Blank Cards so different?

Why doesn’t the link on the card take me to this FAQ?

These are excellent ideas that we will definitely keep in mind if we do this again!

Can I see what all the cards look like?

They look like this!

Two of the physical cards have names printed differently than shown here. The names shown here are correct. In one case there was a typo, in the other case a name was updated after the cards were printed. In both cases, the physical cards are still valid and approved by the people on them.

What if I just print my own?

Please don’t…
