Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins: Donation Match

Thanks to the generosity of the Donoho Family, we have a $2,000 match to raise funds for Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins this winter!

Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins is one of TPC's newest and most involved shows. With over 20 puppets, a gorgeous set, and 4 puppeteers, it really does take a village to put on this production. With your help, we can continue to run this show annually and share the story with generations to come.

The Puppet Co. first premiered this show in December of 2021, commissioning Stephen Laughton to write the play version of the beloved book by Eric Kimmel. Hershel uses his wit, guile, and belief in goodness to defeat the goblins that labor to prevent the Hanukkah candles from being lit. The puppets in our production were designed by Elizabeth Dapo, so our goblins range from goofy, bumbling, and even sweet, to dark and spooky.

This show touches on the importance of spreading the light in the midst of fear, anger, and darkness. We want all children in the community and beyond to be touched by this story the same way so many have over the years.
