Now Hiring: Master Puppet Builder

The Master Puppet Builder leads the organization in our puppetry building expertise and education.  This position reports to the Executive Director and Artistic Director. This position is responsible for:

Education of Puppetry Expertise

• Train and teach others in the art of puppetry

• Build and repair puppets

•  teach hired puppeteers or volunteers on building and repairs 

• Train and teach others in puppet-building techniques 

• Assist with taking photos and videos, recording and marketing our puppetry expertise

• Communicate with and support directors, including timelines to create or repair puppets

Input on Programming & Staff

• Develop relationships with artists, directors, performers, stage managers, designers, puppet makers, etc.

• Provide input towards hiring for guest artists, performers, artists, directors, stage managers, designers, puppet makers, etc. (may fulfill some of these roles themselves)

Administrative

• Maintain the company’s production facilities and equipment, performing minor repairs and communicating any larger facility repairs or needs

• Maintain a physically clean & safe working environment

• Model and promote effective and positive communication among staff 

• Demonstrate and maintain a healthy working environment for, and ensure the safety of, all staff, volunteers, artists, and patrons 

• Have a strong commitment to the advancement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) values throughout the organization 

Position:

Contract position; Part Time, Salary: $22-$28  hourly based on experience
